Had just ten months when, it is said, he was suddenly from the sky the use of the word, to divert his own father from a bad deed. Five years had already penetrated, for divine inspiration, the mystery of the Eucharistic presence. As a child he learned Latin well without help from professors or repeaters.

Blessed she was just six years old when his mother died in 1612 and 1615 the father, unable to wait with dignity to his education, he led her in Trento in the monastery of Santa Chiara, guided by Clarisse that provided to impart to the Baldwin education according to the customs of the time, based on religion, literature, music, needlework and dancing.
Just nine years, i.e. an exceptional age for those times was admitted to first communion. On that occasion, Loh said a vow of virginity which remained faithful for the rest of his life.
Maria was twelve he wrote to his father his intention to get Clare nun and stay in Trento. Giovanni Bonomo initially hindered in any way the vocation of daughter, made her return to Asiago to start to married life, but eventually consented to the desire for daughter reserving however to choose personally the order and the monastery
In the Church of Santa Chiara Trento was novice and Sundays accompanied the mass with the sound of the violin, drawing in Church, outside the walls, a large group of people.

Finally, fifteen years on 21 June 1621 Maria entered the Benedictine monastery of San Girolamo in Bassano. She was given the name of Mohammed and the 8 September 1622 he made his profession of vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. Began the journey toward perfection by following the traditional three-way: purifying, illuminative and psychic. His life was filled with heavenly visions and for about seven years had "many thanks" and was able to enjoy heavenly joys, especially in its frequent mystical experiences, which became more intense when he received communion.
The privilege of reaching the pinnacle of divine experience, dialogue with the Savior, involved also the proof of great tribulations in body and spirit. At the age of twenty, during one of the usual ecstasy, Jesus poses on her finger the ring of mystical marriage, since for some years from Thursday afternoon until the evening of Friday or Saturday morning, flashing back in Ecstasy every moment and all the pain of Christ's passion. He also received the stigmata!

These phenomena on the one hand, filled with joy, but on the other hand the plagued him, because it made her look in the eyes of others "what is not" as she put it. Prayed intently until she was granted a pardon that disappeared the stigmata and that the Rapture occurred only at night, enabling thus to lead a normal life in the monastery. He also had the gift of bilocation.
The fame of Holiness wafting, aroused the opposition of some sisters, the confessor and the Curia of Vicenza for seven years the banned travel to the visiting room and writing letters. Even the Confessor considered her "crazy" and went so far as to forbid her communion until one day the sacred Host was brought by an Angel. At that time he was also suffering from physical illnesses: periodic fever and then continue, sciatica, etc.

The situation changed in the last twenty years of his life. She was allowed to resume the match and was also elected Abbess in June 1652. The 1 St August 1655 was elected prioress until 1664, when she was elected Abbess again. The nuns taught that Holiness does not consist in doing great things, but to do simple things perfectly and municipalities.
Many, even noble, resorted to her for advice and many needy reccomendation of his great love, virtues that together with the humility and heroic patience were the features of his life.

But it was now old, full of merits but also charged with aching, under whose weight finally bent his weary knees to Bassano on 1° March 1670

The center of his spirituality, started at the Franciscan school and completed in the Benedictine, Carmelite and Ignatian influences, but focuses on the figure of Christ, the bridegroom Mystic, contemplated the most salient phases of his earthly life, as you can also glean from his writings, including leading the "Meditations on the passion of our Lord Jesus Christ" and the numerous letters remain.
Many prodigious healings were attributed to her intercession and in 1699 was introduced the beatification process which ended on 9 June 1783 when it was solemnly beatified by Pope Pius VI with great joy of the population from all over the Veneto and particularly of Asiago and Bassano who hailed patroness.

The last prodigy occurred in his homeland during World War I, when despite the furious bombardment which destroyed all Asiago, the statue dedicated to her in 1908 in front of his birthplace, inexplicably intact.
