Outside
Has a square base of 80 m. sideways with above terrace accessed via two staircases, on which rail is printed arrows indicating the peaks and towns were the scene of the bloodiest battles. Another ladder to the top of the majestic triumphal fronted arch with a votive area.
Interior
the bottom, better defined as "crypt", is crossed by the perimeter and axial corridors along which are distributed the niches with the remains of the fallen. The corridors all converge in a chapel with octagonal altar; along the walls are the remains of twelve gold medals for bravery.
The Shrine houses the mortal remains of fallen Italians 33,086 (12,795 known and settled into individual and collective burials in graves unknown 20,291 collected); were also collected and buried the remains of fallen Austro-Hungarian 18,505 (12,355 of whom unknown) coming also from the plateau's war cemeteries.
Museum
Near the entrance of the crypt-charnel house was a Museum in two sectors which displays many relics, collected on the battlefields of the plateau, as well as documents and photographs that bring us a living testimony of bitter and bloody fighting that took place. In the area of the left shows the war industry, the Adige on the Brenta, 1915-1916 in the first two years of the war: from initial fierce defense of advanced valiant departments who sacrificed themselves on Passo Buole, Pasubio, Novegno, Cengio, Zovette, Lemerle, Valbella, Meletta to block on the last wall mount, the great Austrian offensive in May-June 1916. In the field of the right are documented the events of 1917-1918 period during which the war waged with very aggressive from both sides ended with the defeat of the austro-Hungarian army. In particular they remember the desperate fighting on the Pasubio, the great work of logistic organization and strengthening of the difficult mountain positions and the Holocaust of heroic alpine troops at the battle of Mount Ortigara.
